Who am I is a trick question

Who am I is something I asked myself for a long time and I now understand that the question itself is the issue.  As soon as you ask "Who am I?" you instantly tell yourself that you don't know who you are.  The truth is that you are YOU always and the question itself takes you outside of yourself and creates a LOT of pain and confusion.
